Not for the first time, this summer just gone, Cool Bus (the French Alps’ best and most efficient transfer company) supported the ever growing and massively popular Trans-Provence mountain bike race. A gruelling race for all concerned, racers, staff and vans, the race runs for almost a week from the Alps down to the south coast of France, finally finishing in Monaco.
A wet morning start on the Trans-Provence 2012
This year saw some serious pro contenders for the title in the form of Nico Vouilloz, Jerome Clementz, Ben Cruz and the UK’s very own Joe Barnes, but the the overall competition was eventually won by Nicolas Lau.
We look forward to next year’s race but for now check this awesome video made by the Trans-Provence team featuring some pretty sexy looking vans!
MAVIC® TRANS-PROVENCE 2012 ::: THE JOURNEY – SUPPORTED BY COOL BUS
These days it seems like everyone has been affected or knows someone who has been affected by cancer and this definitely includes us here at Cool Bus. So, we’ve decided to have a bash at raising money for Cancer Research UK. The work this charity does is amazing and undoubtedly will help all of us in some way throughout all of our lifetimes.
A big cause like this deserves a big effort so we are going to cycle the length of the UK from John O’Groats to Lands End in May of next year. Only six months to train for a ride of around 1000 miles with 14,000m of climbing and an incessant headwind! There are eight of us in the team all collecting for the same cause. In fact ex-Cool Bus driver Tim Morris, who has recently just beaten cancer himself, is heading the team of predominantly mountain bikers most of whom are simply dreading the thought of both concrete and Lycra alike!
We, Cool Bus, are helping out by donating a support vehicle for the whole team and the good people at Orange are supplying the two of us with bikes. Our page http://www.justgiving.com/coolbusendtoend is dedicated to those wishing to donate on behalf of Cool Bus represented by Rob Forbes and Bry Watt.
Although times are hard, we are no longer officially in recession so the only tight thing around here should be our Lycra. We know it’s a while off yet but GET DONATING, no matter how small. Thank you!
