Along with Tignes, Val d'Isere makes up the huge Esapce Killy ski area with around 300 kms of pistes. It is well known for it's good off-piste and snowboard parks. With the Glacier in Tignes the area boasts a long season and good conditions can usually be found somewhere in the resort even after long periods without snow. The town itself (1950m) is very picturesque, nestled in a narrow valley with traditionally built chalets, some excellent hotels and world-renowned nightlife!
Chambery Airport is situated just east of the city and services a large volume of passengers for its size. FlyBe, Snowjet and BMI have regular arrivals here. Chambery is also the nearest airport to the resorts in our area making for some very short transfers which are, for the large part, on motorways. The down side is that it is situated in a fairly narrow valley which can attract bad weather resulting in flight delays or diversions on a fairly regular basis.
