The resort of La Thuile is just over the Italian border from Bourg St. Maurice. Technically it is possible to get there using the Ecudets chairlift which is just 5 minutes up from Bourg but we have found that it is much more economical in terms of time and money to run a van uplift to get you over the border without the need for two very long, slow lifts and around 40 minutes of pedalling (close to an hour of pedalling uphill in the reverse direction too).

Once there you will find two chairlifts accessing twenty fantastic purpose built mountain bike trails that range from intermediate to advanced. The majority of the riding is below the tree line and it’s the flow of these trails that makes the area really stand out. Essentially these are purpose built singletrack trails making use of natural features rather than out and out downhill tracks. A real contrast to the natural singletrack and DH courses in other local resorts. There’s a good reason why this has been used as a venue for the Enduro World Series for many years! Once you’ve had your fill of riding over there (plus a quality pizza lunch no doubt!) we run you back up over the border and drop you at the top of an awesome descent that drops you back down towards Bourg St. Maurice. This is one not to be missed with incredible views of the valley below and the perfect end to the day! Available from late June through until early September, the trip is unguided and features mainly waymarked bike park trails.
