LYON PART-DIEU TRANSFERS

Lyon Part-Dieu can be a great option for travel to the Alps as it is possible to book a direct ticket to hear from St. Pancras in London. The journey time is under 5 hours giving it a favourable comparison to flying for residents of the capital. Options are limited but if you are happy changing trains in Paris you will find 20+ departures every day. The Paris to Lyon Part-Dieu TGV takes less than 2 hours to cover a distance of nearly 400km.

The transfer time from here to ski resorts of the Tarentaise varies between two and two and a half hours. The Snow Carbon website offers great advice on booking trains to the Alps and a variety of routes are available via the SNCF website.

VAL D’ISERE

Along with Tignes, Val d’Isere makes up the huge Espace Killy ski area with around 300kms of pistes. It is well known for it’s good off-piste and snowboard parks. With the Glacier in Tignes the area boasts a long season and good conditions can usually be found somewhere in the resort even after long periods without snow.

Val d’Isere (1950 metres) is very picturesque, nestled in a narrow valley with traditionally built chalets, some excellent hotels and world-renowned nightlife!
