STONE KING TOURING CLUB

From 2009, and for ten years, Cool Bus was the official transport provider for the Trans Provence mountain bike rally. This genre defining, 6 day race, established a new endurance mountain bike format that many have since followed. The final edition rolled into Menton, on the Cote d’Azur in June 2019 which turned out to be good timing, what with global pandemics and all that!

Roll forward three years and Ash Smith and his team were back with a new race – the Stone King Rally. Using a similar 6 day format but starting in Arvieux in the French Alps, the race heads east through the Queyras and into Italy, before turning south and finishing on the beach at Bordighera.
Several trails have been built specifically for the race, leaving a lasting legacy to help encourage mountain bikers to discover these overlooked, but spectacular mountains.

Hence the Stone King Touring Club! Unlike Trans Provence, this time the full race route will be available via subscription, allowing you to create your own tailor made Stone King tour. As with the race itself, Cool Bus is on hand as official transport partner, to provide a vehicle support package, enabling you to experience the rally in exactly the same way as this years competitors.

We provide a VW Caravelle with 8 passenger seats, bike trailer with space for 8 bikes and an experienced and knowledgable driver. Our full package includes:

daily shuttles to the trailhead averaging around 2000 vertical metres/day (each day still includes at least 1500 metres climbing to do under your own steam, giving a daily descent total of at least 3500 metres)
baggage transport between each accommodation. Your driver will meet you at your chosen hotel at each stop along the way
transport back to Arvieux at the end of your tour
