MOUTIERS TRAIN STATION TRANSFERS
Moutiers station sits at the head of the Tarentaise Valley and provides an ideal hopping off point for visitors to the ski resorts of Les Trois Vallees including Meribel, Courchevel, Les Menuires and Val Thorens. It also offers good access to the resort of Champagny, part of the La Plagne ski area This is the first destination for the ski train which departs from Kings Cross St. Pancras in London every Friday evening. Ski train tickets can be booked be booked on the Euro Star website and generally go on sale in October.
It is also possible to catch a direct train from Paris to Moutiers which offers many more options in terms of timing. The Snow Carbon website offers great advice on booking trains to the Alps and a variety of routes are available via the SNCF website.
LES MENUIRES
Les Menuires, along with Val Thorens and St. Martin, make up the westerly of the Three Valley’s – Vallee de Belleville. Certainly not one of the best looking resorts in the area, it nonetheless has a full compliment of bars, restaurants, clubs and many high rise apartment blocks!
As with all resorts in the 3 Valleys, the terrain for skiing and snowboarding is hugely varied. The area immediately around Les menuires is also extensively covered with snow canons so that even in poor seasons, there is no problem with skiing right into the town.
