Val d’Isere and Tignes combined make up the huge Espace Killy ski area with around 300 kms of pistes. It is well known for good off-piste and snow parks. With the glacier in Tignes the area boasts a long season and good conditions can usually be found somewhere in the resort even after long periods without snow.
The town itself, at 1950, is very picturesque, nestled in a narrow valley with traditionally built chalets, some excellent hotels and world-renowned nightlife!
