MOUTIERS TRAIN STATION TRANSFERS
Moutiers station sits at the head of the Tarentaise Valley and provides an ideal hopping off point for visitors to the ski resorts of Les Trois Vallees including Meribel, Courchevel, Les Menuires and Val Thorens. It also offers good access to the resort of Champagny, part of the La Plagne ski area. This is the first destination for the ski train which departs from Kings Cross St. Pancras in London every Friday evening. Ski train tickets can be booked be booked on the Euro Star website and generally go on sale in October.
It is also possible to catch a direct train from Paris to Moutiers which offers many more options in terms of timing. The Snow Carbon website offers great advice on booking trains to the Alps and a variety of routes are available via the SNCF website.
COURCHEVEL
Courchevel is the furthest east of the 3 Valleys. Together with Meribel and Val Thorens/Les Menuires it makes up the world’s biggest ski area. It is made up of five seperate villages – 1300 (Le Praz, the original Village), 1550, 1650 and 1850 and La Tania. The higher up you go the more expensive it gets and the top end hotels in 1850 boast clientele such as the Beckhams! La Tania is slightly west of the main resorts and was purpose built for the 1992 Olympics. For the most expensive nightlife head to 1850!
